OKG for added anti-catabolic action.1-NO is an exciting new generation approach to amino acid based nitric oxide promotion. 1-NO combines AKG with ornithine alpha-ketoglutarate (OKG) to promote NO production through two pathways. The addition of OKG augments the NO stimulatory action of AKG by providing a secondary route to plasma arginine elevation. OKG goes beyond AKG however as it also raises plasma levels of plasma glutamine, polyamines, growth hormone and insulin. 1-NO also contains L-Histidine and B-Alanine. L-Histidine is an amino acid which, like arginine, has been shown to be a potent substrate for Nitric Oxide Synthase (N.O.S.). L-Histidine combines in the body with B-alanine to form carnosine, which is stored in the muscle and acts as a protectant for the L-histidine, preventing it from quick metabolic deactivation. As a dietary supplement, mix 1 scoop in 6 oz of water 30 to 60 minutes prior to workout.
